The Buccan Buccans or Gloucester Buckets, declared by many of the early settlers in the area to be “very romantic and beautiful... monuments in the wilderness” for obvious reasons, stand proudly above the small town of Gloucester, on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Sir Edward Parry, Commissioner of the Australian Agricultural Company remarks on the origin of the name: “Part of the mountains called Hume’s Crags which are denominated “The Buckets,” a word corrupted, I am told, from “buchan,” being the native expression for a large rock or stone.” - Early Days of Port Stephens, Extracts from Sir Edward Parry’s Diary

Note: All print only options come with an additional 20mm white border.
